The Story of Boon

Boon Technology was founded by Alana Amaker, a dedicated educator from Chicago, Illinois. In 2004,
after being diagnosed with ALS — a progressive disease that affects motor function — Alana faced
firsthand the challenges of navigating daily life with a disability.
Through these experiences, she recognized a gap: too few technologies are designed with accessibility,
dignity, and real-world ease in mind.
Driven by the belief that innovation should empower everyone, Alana founded Boon — a company
committed to building smart, inclusive technologies that open new pathways for connection, growth,
and living fully.
